Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!

Sadly, many students in my classroom come in saying they have difficulty completing practice assignments or models for project because of lack of supplies.

Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to take on the year!

My Project

Where have the arts in education gone? I refuse to let the arts die, and one way I plan to keep it alive is through the construction of models. Creating models has become very popular with students. It has also become easier to do in the classroom since it is now integrated into our new curriculum. Models provide an interactive platform that encourages learners to give captivating and engaging class presentations. I want to use the requested markers, crayons, posters and paint to motivate students to put more effort in their presentations along with their slideshows, and show visual explanations of their ideas to visually connect with their audience. Students will work in collaborative groups to create models on science concepts such as environmental, earth, evolution and reproduction.

It's ideal for a diverse range of learning styles and just plain out fun and memorable.

With these model supplies it will help to motivate students, improve learning, and integrate art! Please help me keep the arts alive!
