Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love my Prek students because they are so creative. These kids are so special because they are constantly challenging themselves using different tools and materials to craft with. Using materials such as kinetic sand allows children to build and mold their ideas into a form of sculpture. In the Where We Live unit of study, kids can sculpt the different types of homes as well as create their own. Using the other mediums that I’m asking for will also help to stimulate 3 Dimensional art creations. Students can build different types of homes they see around the neighbors. Finally, using paints, markers, and crayons students can form a map of the city on which they live. Many children in my class are new to the country and are unable to communicate and so for them crafting is an activity where they can express themselves. Crafting will also help strengthen their confidence in their abilities at school.
