Artists Need Supplies

My students need stretched canvases to paint.

My Students

Collaboration is a key skill for all 21st century learners. My students need to be able to work collaboratively to create artwork.

My students are art lovers!

They take such pride in the work they do. Some have even asked for art homework! They attend a public school and are fortunate to receive 50 minutes of art instruction each week. With my help, they have devised ways to paint canvases to hang in our hallways.

My Project

I am requesting canvases. These will help my students achieve the goal that they have set for creating and hanging permanent pieces of art in our school. My students want to hone in their painting skills. Working on these canvases can help them to do that. The students will work together to complete this project. The impact of this project will be immense. Not only will my students be able to achieve a goal that they have set themselves, but they will also gain valuable cooperative skills as they work together to achieve it. This project meets many Mississippi Visual Arts Curriculum standards including creating cooperative pieces, manipulating various media, and using art vocabulary. The most important thing about this project is that these students will be able to take pride in their school as the artwork is displayed!

Please help me help my students achieve this goal!

I have been amazed at their level of enthusiasm for creating art and am quite proud of them for devising this project themselves. I think they deserve to be able to achieve this goal. This is a minimal investment per student! Plus all 600 students at this school (and the entire school community) will be able to enjoy the artwork!
