My Students
My students are from a large, urban community that welcomes families from all over the globe. They bring a special blend of linguistic diversity, background knowledge, prior experiences, and culture to our school. We are a Title I school in a low-income community; I have twenty-six students in my classroom. Free breakfast and free lunch are available to every child in our building each day, which are now remotely served.
My Project
The majority of my students read above grade level. Since the school closed without notice on March 16th due to Covid-19, most of my students do not have time to bring home their school books and supplies from their desks and classroom. My amazing students have been working incredibly hard but have not had time for any kind of enrichment or creative activities they were receiving in school. As was in my "real" classroom, art supplies could be distributed to them for all types of visual and tactical learning experiences.
