This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My class is full of bright-eyed, beautiful children who are excited to learn. The majority of them are low-income and many of them are coming to pre-kindergarten/Kindergarten already behind. They are ready and eager to learn new things and to have new experiences.
Our school is located in the city of Detroit and we are a Title I school where all of the students in the school qualify for free lunch.
Many of our students eat breakfast at school as well. This is the beginning of their educational experience and I want to make sure they have everything they need to be successful.
My Project
My students love art and they love to create. With these materials, students will learn about many famous artists and their mediums. They learn about all different kinds of art including painting, sculpture, collages and so much more.
They will have the opportunity to become artists themselves.
The materials ordered will allow them to take chances and explore their artistic side. In our classroom, the art area will always be open for children to immerse themselves in art. They will be able to paint, draw and create fun collages as often as they like.
