Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We all loved making gifts for our families when we went to school. I want my students to feel that same way. I want them to be able to make astonishing, decorated projects and be proud to give it to their families.

We are a class of highly motivated students with a focus and passion on learning and creating.

My hope is that I can guide my students and continue developing their love of art and school. Our resources are limited, and we need your help. This is a second grade class that is located in New York. The students come from low income housing and have extremely limited resources. Our elementary school has grades K-4 and houses over 1,100 students. Quality art supplies have become difficult to acquire.

My Project

My students need Washable, Dry Erase and Permanent Markers as well as Colored Pencils. I am asking for these supplies not only for our art period but also for decorating their published writing pieces, drawing a favorite character or setting, creating bar graphs, pictographs, making holiday cards and gifts and countless other activities that I have planned for this exciting year. The students will learn how to draw, use space, color, shade and create. My goal for every year is to make our school year together one of the most memorable of the student's lives. The projects that the students complete will inspire them, make them believe in themselves and will produce that magical smile that makes teaching the greatest job in the world.

We have made some remarkable art projects this year including Dr Seuss' Whoville setting, and Van Gogh's sunflower themed drawings. Our classroom mission statement this year is, " Let's have a class that people would never dream of missing." Your donation will help solidify our mission.
