My Project

My second graders love getting to create and I want to give them as many different materials that I can to help boost their creativity. The materials requested in this project would be added to the makerspace area for students to use as needed. We have also been learning about economics, money, needs/wants and creating. This project-based activity will allow all of these skills to come together.

The students will be creating and designing items for a school-wide fine arts festival and "Makers Market".

They will create art pieces as well as useful items such as paintings, weaving, keychains, jewelry, decorated pots, and much more. They will use the profits to donate to our building program that is helping to combat food insecurities in our district. Our goal is to show the community how creative our children are and how big their hearts are for giving back.
