My students need The Worlds' Greatest Artists (set of 30 books), plus brushes, smocks and a drying rack for Art enrichment. Integrating the Arts in content areas such as Language Arts will enhance their critical thinking skills.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My students are part of the Chicago Public School system, which is affected by budget cuts. Budget cuts affect the Visual and Performing Arts, resulting in leaving Art to be introduced by the General Education teacher, along with all the other subjects.
My students are curious little people who love to learn and play!
They love coming to school. They get excited when they can use markers and paint. For them, it is the little things. They are from a diverse neighborhood in Chicago and are part of a population that receives 92.3% reduced or free lunch. They deserve to be exposed to the Arts and learn to create, look, and appreciate all kinds of Art. As my kids are primarily English language learners whose primary language is one other than English, infusing the Arts in our curriculum will allow the content to come to life visually improving their memory and critical thinking skills.
My Project
My students need The Worlds' Greatest Artists, Set of 30 plus brushes, smocks and a drying rack for Art enrichment. Integrating the Arts in content areas such as Language Arts will enhance their critical thinking skills. I want to introduce an Artist to them, study their works, and then create their own works inspired by the Artist we studied. Also, I am requesting paint supplies to execute these works. Lastly, I am requesting storage materials for the paint supplies and dry racks for their art.
Looking at Art teaches one how to think in different ways.
Our kids need to develop these 21st century critical thinking skills. Art promotes creative problem-solving, collaboration and the ability to apply these skills to other areas of their learning.
