This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"It's not about what it is; it is about what it can become." Dr. Seuss. I have the pleasure of working with outstanding children. They come to school prepared to learn and try their best every day. I teach in a Title I school with a high population of non-native English speakers.

Our school is located in a low-income area, with most students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.

I focus on the potential and growth of the children in my room. It is important that the students are prepared with a STEAM education that will prepare them for the future. Their growth is measured in student joy and love for learning, their engagement in classroom activities, and their desire to share their learning at home!

My Project

Each year we celebrate the 100th day of school with a class celebration. We plan to celebrate all day long as we learn about the number, what it means and looks like. My students will listen to stories about the number 100 and take part in many 100 day activities with STEAM building fun. To add the art into STEAM I would like to have them create a t-shirt this year.

Art has been lost as a curriculum in our school and this provides my students with the opportunity to express their artistic and individual abilities.

Students will create a shirt using buttons, gems, and paint. They love creating art and wearing it shows everyone their self-expression. Please consider making this a day to remember for my little learners.
