My Students

The students at our school are constantly working toward being stewards of our watershed, empowered decision makers, historians and conscientious community members. We are located in south-central Montana, just north of Yellowstone National Park. We are an active, artsy, outdoorsy and environmentally aware community. Being engaged with our "backyard" keeps us connected to our community.

Our daily goal is to explore learning through personal experience.

My Project

The learners in our 3rd - 5th grade library need access to books about music, the art for our ears. Currently, they have access to about 20 titles, with some being very dated and most showing little student interest. Basically, this section is completely overlooked. We need current trends, popular musicians as well as quality history texts about people who create music, music history, musical genres and components to creating music harmony.

Reading new and interesting books on these topics will be music to their ears.

Like most of us, students gravitate toward the new, modern and attractive books on the shelves. Supplying new titles for this section will inspire interest in the musical arts.
