This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am organizing an Art Therapy Paint Night for 7th and 8th graders who face social-emotional and behavioral challenges. Art offers these students a unique way to express emotions, develop new skills, and engage in a positive, creative outlet.

To make this event possible, I am seeking funds to purchase:

Art easels

Paint and paint brushes

Canvases

Snacks

Small prizes

How These Items Will Make a Difference:

The requested supplies will allow students to explore their feelings through creative expression. Art easels, paint, and canvases provide a professional and engaging experience that fosters patience, focus, and self-awareness. Snacks and prizes will create a relaxed atmosphere, encouraging participation and making the event enjoyable.

Project Goals:

The goal is to provide students with a supportive space to express their emotions, build confidence, and develop positive social connections. Art will help students improve emotional regulation, problem-solving skills, and self-expression in a fun, non-traditional way.

What Makes These Students Special:

These junior high students are at a pivotal age, and many struggle with emotional expression and behavior. While often hard to reach, they are resilient and have immense potential when given the right support. This event will offer them a chance to grow in a creative and encouraging environment, tapping into their strengths and helping them feel more connected to their peers and school.
