Art Therapy : Managing Emotions & Decreasing Anxiety

Help me give my students supplies such as colored pencils and paper to integrate art therapy in a cool-down space. As students reflect, they can become more creative, self-regulate emotions, decrease anxiety and worry while soothing themselves, increasing self-esteem and self-worth.

FULLY FUNDED! Ms. M Silcott's classroom raised $384

My Students

Curious, enthusiastic, and creative; my students are eager to immerse themselves in any kind of challenge.

My students grow to love silly and corny videos that help them to understand their lives and how to increase their overall wellness and health.

My Project

This school year has been especially tough on students psychosocially and academically. Many students are dealing with emotions and underlying trauma as a result of the pandemic and its constraints and the myriad of changes that they have had to find coping strategies for.

The pencils, paper, and colored pencils requested in this project will aid students who are not able to articulate with words their thoughts and feelings, in an artistic and creative way, while giving them an outlet for self-expression and the ability to rediscover their identity and improve self-worth.

Students will be able to simply focus on mental health and find different strategies to cope with the hope that improved emotions will result in greater academic gains
