My Project

Paint brushes, paint pens, art crayons, and supplies like Gesso and Mod-Podge are exactly what my Art 8 students need to develop their artistic voice. Due to budget cuts, I am now teaching a section of art this year. I am new to art. I currently teach English! Nevertheless, It is up to me to help my 8th graders reach the next level artistically. To help them improve their skills, this means trying mixed-media projects and finding supplies and artists that will inspire my students.

This year, I am going to start them off drawing portraits (hence the drawing paper) and then move up to mixed-media portraits.

The Karen Campbell art books will help my students understand the specific techniques. Small and medium-sized canvases are needed for the next-level projects. We will also be creating a 5x5 acrylic paint square that represents our community, so acrylic paint, brushes, and canvases are needed. I want to do the art program justice, so I have planned exciting and engaging projects. I just need the supplies!
