This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Art lessons are a daily occurrence in my preschool class. We need supplies desperately.
My preschool students are from one of the poorest areas in the San Fernando Valley.
Most don't have any supplies at home for us to do art so when they come to school they love to do art. They get so excited when I explain what project or craft we are doing next in art.
My Project
I am requesting a variety of art supplies that we use every day in our classroom. I usually have to replenish these supplies every 3 months. With our school budget cuts it has been hard to get the supplies that we need. The projects and crafts that we do with these supplies are incorporated into our thematic units. For example, if we are learning about he letter G I will have them decorate a huge letter G any color glitter of their choice.
To have all of these wonderful supplies would allow me to avoid placing a limit on the different arts and crafts that I can incorporate into our weekly lesson plans.
My creativity will be free to do whatever I like with my preschool students.
