My Students

My students are very excited about learning and love to come to school each day. They are passionate about helping the environment, doing yoga, reading funny stories, and learning the English language. In my classroom, we celebrate diversity and equality of all. Many of my students have already experienced a great deal outside of our classroom walls. School is a safe place for my students to have fun positive experiences and to build long-lasting friendships.

My Project

I am a full-time distance learning teacher for a 3rd and 4th grade combination class at a low-income elementary school. My students are passionate about art, and doing weekly art lessons makes them smile; hence allowing them a chance to have a social emotional learning opportunity off of their devices. In addition, I also incorporate art with our writing, reading, science, and math lessons in order to engage student learning. Most of my students are second language learners, and art allows them to express themselves freely and increases their English Language Development. These art supplies are desperately needed and will be truly valued by my students, their families, and myself.
