Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

BSA Charter High School will prepare our young people for post-secondary success that leads to positive life outcomes.

Our school serves youth who are homeless, in foster care, or from low performing schools.

We value student strengths and provide multiple pathways to success through a curriculum of rigorous academic, career, and social/emotional instruction grounded in the principles of positive youth development.

At BSA, we hold our students to five pillars of excellence to support students in becoming well-rounded, valuable and value-added citizens. The five pillars of PRIDE include Professionalism, Resilience, Investment, Dignity, Empathy. A BSA graduate will possess the 21st-century knowledge, collaborative and technological skills and personal qualities that will enable them to contribute to their community and pursue their educational and professional goals.

My Project

My goal is give our students a well-rounded Studio Art experience, that can allow them to explore self-expression during their first year in high school. My students experience only one visual art class during 9th grade in their entire high school career; so it is critical I provide them with exposure to a variety of materials and resources! The supplies needed are prismacolor colored pencils, sharpie markers, pacon posterboard, crayola supertip markers, fabriano watercolor pads, scissors, pencil sharper, pencils, rulers, black and white acrylic paint, and pre-cut matboards for display. These supplies help us cover units in Drawing and Painting. The supplies I am requesting are basics needed to produce quality outcomes students can cherish for years to come!
