My Project

Craft activities offer a wealth of educational benefits for children, helping them develop critical skills in areas like color recognition, shape identification, pattern creation, and basic mathematics. When kids sit down with craft supplies, they have the opportunity to experiment with different color combinations, learning how primary colors can be mixed to create new hues. Cutting out various shapes helps children understand the attributes that define a square, circle, triangle or rectangle. As they arrange shapes and colors into patterns, children begin to recognize repeating sequences and develop their logical thinking abilities

Art and craft activities can provide a wide range of developmental benefits for preschool-aged children.

Manipulating art materials like crayons, markers, paint brushes, and scissors helps young children build fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. The creative process of making art decisions around color, composition, and materials fosters imagination and self-expression. Following the step-by-step instructions of certain crafts enhances the ability to plan, focus attention, and see tasks through to completion. Discussing and sharing art with others supports language development and social skills. Art projects themed around numbers, letters, and shapes can reinforce early math and literacy concepts. Trying new and different art techniques and media also develops problem-solving skills and cognitive flexibility. Most importantly, the open-ended exploration involved in art and crafts cultivates a joy of learning, experimentation, and discovery. Integrating regular art and craft activities into the preschool curriculum lays an important foundation for lifelong learning and creative thinking.

My students are passionate about art and thrive on expressing their creativity through their work. They are inspired to create pieces that reflect their life experiences, from memories of places they've visited to dreams of far-off destinations they long to explore someday. Art provides them a powerful medium to communicate their unique perspectives, observations and aspirations.
