Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have an amazing group of students! They are compassionate and welcoming to everyone. My students have been able to create an incredible sense of community. They all come from different backgrounds and have made great bonds with each other.

This group of students is kind, generous, and very helpful.

They are always eager to find out what new concepts they will be learning about. They are respectful and take into consideration the opinions of others. They are awesome kids!

My Project

This year our magnet program became a STEAM Magnet, so we are incorporating more art into our lessons. I want to be able to give my students more mediums to explore while we study different artists.

So far we have learned about Van Gogh and Picasso, and are currently learning about Matisse.

Giving my students these supplies will allow them to paint and mix colors that they haven't been able to do thus far.

Using watercolors will teach my students how the amount of water added changes the depth of the color. They will learn that the pressure used when drawing with oil pastels affects the color. I know they will love being able to use more than just crayons for their art!
