My Project
We are requesting markers, crayons, and colored pencils, as well as glue sticks, to complete art projects. My students use art a lot to help with emotional regulation. Here at the end of the school year, most of our supplies have run out. We need to restock our markers, crayons, colored pencils, and glue.
My students are wonderfully creative, and art is an excellent way to express and release emotions.
Despite coming from a lot of disadvantages, these kids truly try to embrace any coping skills that will help them keep control of their emotions. Art (coloring, drawing, and painting) has been an excellent way for students to deal with stressful situations.
My kids are all in a day treatment center for kids with special needs. They deal with social/emotional/behavioral disorders that make it difficult for them to be successful in a regular school. Any help that I can give my students makes a huge difference in their futures.
