Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year is my sixth year as the Visual Arts teacher at my school. I work in a school in Brooklyn that has over 950 students. I work with children from pre-k to fifth grade. I want to inspire my art students to explore different materials and create fantastic works of art. I absolutely love making connections with all of my students and being able to broaden their knowledge about what art is and what it can be.

Most of my students think of art in a very traditional way: its painting, drawing and sculpting, but my goal is to show them the vast uses, techniques and ideas that are all ART!

My students are amazing and they teach me something new every day. They are talented, curious, and they love to experiment and learn new techniques as they express their ideas through art.

My Project

Students will be able to use many of these art supplies and organizational storage. The paint markers will be used to sign outdoor art installations. I will be able to use the Ipad stand with light to take good quality photos and videos hands free remotely or in person.

I was excited when Crayola expanded their Multicultural crayons with their Colors from around the world crayon set.

This will be helpful when students draw themselves and others. The Akro-mils plastic storage will help sort out beads of different colors. The Shadow frame will be used to create 3-D sign for the classroom.
