Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a Title I school in which most of the students come from low-socio economic backgrounds. My class is composed of enthusiastic, hard working, and talented students.

As we start the year with remote learning I would like for my students to have a sense of community building as they learn from home.

My Project

They will benefit from this art activity immensely because it will allow them to show and communicate their ideas with their friends whom they have not seen for months. In addition, it will allow each one of them to show their unique character and their artistic ability.

Painting rocks will give them a sense of community building!

It will encourage them to participate in virtual discussions and help them develop their creativity as they paint rocks with acrylic paint. In addition, I am requesting Kindness Rocks, a children’s book, about the power of Kindness. The rock painting kit will allow my students to spread kindness and joy to their family and community. They will be encouraged to place them in their garden, community or to give them to a family member as a token of appreciation. Furthermore, this project will help spread joy to my students during this stressful time.
