This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The other day my student said to me “Mr. A, I want to create this logo! Can I use your computer to see how to draw it?” He then began walking back and forth from his table to my laptop. He would sketch a little and then come back and look at the image. He did this for the entire class period! The drawing came out great! But he wasn’t able to finish.

I calculated the time he spent walking back and forth working on his artwork during class, but out of the whole 45 minutes he spent 20 of those minutes coming back to look at the reference image!

“Terrible!” I thought to myself, “What can I do to help my students use all their time meaningfully without the hassle of having to leave there working area?” Then it hit me, an Art room printer! My students can print reference photos to trace, draw grids over and use as a reference to create their artworks!

Over the years I’ve seen this same struggle with countless other students of mine. These students don’t have much, but are so very talented! Unfortunately, they have never had the provisions at home to create Art. With your help, we can provide an Art room printer for a brand new experience to learn to use reference photos in growing their artistic talents. Thank you for everything and blessings to you all!
