Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year my middle school art students are back in class and are ready to explore the fabulous new world of digital photography using the LED light box to capture high quality images of their work and other digital media as well as many of our old art class favorites like painting, collage, clay and drawing in order to create flyers for our community service projects this year.

Students will also be dipping their toes into more content creation including creating stop motion animations using the LED light box and headphones.

The headphones are bone conductor meaning they don't sit inside the ear but students are still able to hear the audio. Students will be able to work on editing their stop motion films while also being able to hear the other students they are working with as well as the teacher!

Students are excited to be working in the art room and are eager to learn new techniques and art processes this year! Providing this technology and these new, fancy supplies will help us expand and build on our understanding of what it means to be a working artist. It will support student development as well as our expansion into becoming more community focused!
