My students need an Art Center including beads, flowers, foam, Alphabet and Numbers Macaroni, Giant Alphabet Stamps, and Roll-On-Painters in the classroom.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Most of my students have difficulty with fine and gross motor skills. This Art Center could be the perfect opportunity to assist students with mastering everyday life skills such as using eating utensils, grasping objects, fastening clothing, and drawing.
My students are age 3-5 year old with disabilities that include Autism and Speech and Language Impairment.
They are very enthusiastic about learning and find pleasure in exploring new ideas and concepts. My school is located in a neighborhood where 95% of the residents annual incomes are below poverty levels.
My Project
My students will be able to strengthen their fine motor skills by engaging in art activities that includes drawing, coloring, painting, making collages, cutting, pasting. Students will also use play dough to strengthen fine motor skills through coordinated movements such as rolling, patting and slicing.
This donation will provide an excellent opportunity for disabled preschool students to express themselves through art while improving fine motor skills needed for daily living skills.
