Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Our students seek new and exciting resources to help feed their young minds. School today can have many challenges, including helping to increase parent involvement. With your help we can find some unique professional development opportunities that will inspire my students to become active 21st century learners.
My students come from a school where 100% of the population is from low-income and disadvantaged households.
The school, along with our entire school district, qualify as Title I. Our school is located directly off of a major highway, in California.
With the support of people from across the globe, we can help educate, communicate, and cooperate with the students in our classroom and school.
My Project
This Professional Development project includes pre/post events, museum entrances, and exhibits during an Art Tour in Europe.
I will improve my knowledge as an Educator by attending these Art Workshops and the fees associated with all thirteen museums will be fully covered by this project.
Several of the museums have trainings available that we will attend. These presentations and trainings will improve my teaching skills for elementary students for years to come. Some of the Academia museums scheduled include the Duomo, Catacombs, Pompidou Center For Art, and Notre-Dame Visitors Center. Visiting these art museums abroad will allow for an extended extra three-day stay to visit these great teacher learning experiences and help bring that art back into the classroom. I will specifically participate in professional development activities and art trainings while visiting world-famous art experiences all across Europe. In Rome, I will attend the 'Teach Art for Elementary' training at the Capitoline Museums on 7/7/2019. Here we will learn about the theory behind teaching young children art techniques, gain experience with famous artists and create a Unit Lesson, with collaboration from fellow teachers, that can easily be taught to my students upon my return. This will definitely improve my students' comprehension of artists' work, their history, and hopefully give an appreciation of the arts to my kiddos. The lessons I will participate in will better prepare myself to teach the skills that I have been trained in. I will bring back knowledge and techniques to teach lessons and skills with art in my own classroom filled with curious 10-year-olds. Thank you for helping!!
