Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are 8th graders who have not been given the opportunity to create art in the classroom. Art supplies are not items that can be bought through school funds, and pencil sharpeners are not able to be replaced when broken without a 6 month process. I would like to use these items to allow time for them to design, create and learn the love of art.

To ensure all students are exposed to art, I will be implementing art lessons in my 8th grade history classes.

Some of these projects will include: creating maps for geography projects, studies of the 50 US states using art, designing their own bill of rights and drawing portraits of historical figures.
