My Students

Our students have a diverse backgrounds including social, economical, ethnic, and religion. We are a Title 1 school where 70%-80% of the students qualify for free or reduced lunch. We implement best practices to make sure students feel welcomed and safe. They are excited to come to school because we have built a community in our classroom and at our school. As a Kindergarten teacher, I am lucky that our school implements play-based learning. It helps students develop social/emotional skills, problem solving skills, and makes learning fun!

My Project

Kindergartners learn best through play and exploring. Our district has art class twice a week for only one semester. I want to give my students the opportunities to explore and create with different art materials throughout the whole year.

Art is a great time for students to be creative.

It also allows the students opportunities to work on their fine motor skills!

With these materials, I will set up an art center where the students can create master pieces. I will also dedicate time twice a week for a whole class art project.
