Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
I teach 5-6 year old students in a Kindergarten classroom. All of my students are English Language Learners and their first language is Spanish. My students in my classroom are very unique. We are learning in two languages each day. We spend time learning in Spanish and time learning in English. Students are striving to one day be biliterate.
An important part of Kindergarten is learning to read.
During our daily centers students are encouraged to play and talk to one another in any language they choose. Students learn to share and cooperatively engage in hands-on activities through play based activities that incorporate reading and Art.
My Project
In Kindergarten, it is important to allow children to express themselves through the use of art. Unfortunately, art has been removed from many school curriculum.
Kindergarten students enjoy learning by using their hands to explore and these art supplies will help to make this possible.
The play dough and painting are great ways to get the students to build their fine motor skills while creating projects.
There is a variety of art supplies included in this project so that each child feels as though they have something to use. They will be able to create hands-on projects that will support our curricula.
