My Students

Art allows us to explore humanity near and far, old and new. At our school, our goals include creating opportunities for our students to do just that! Art is one of the most powerful tools we use to reach our students. As the art teacher, I have the privilege of working with every single one of them!

My students come from many ethnic, linguistic, and social backgrounds.

Nearly 60% of my students come from low-income households. For the majority of the students, English is their second language. The arts are critical for ALL students to show what they know, think, and feel and to develop the necessary 21st-century skills required to be successful in this rapidly changing and interconnected world.

My Project

Help me reach my students in the most interactive and as close to in person way possible with an iPad Pro and the necessary technology to teach art virtually.

With the struggle to keep our students engaged and connected at home, the arts are even more critical than ever.

The Surface Pro will allow for seamless instruction and live and recorded video instruction. I will be able to create interactive lessons using the online platforms our school is adopting for our continued online instruction. By having the power of a computer and the portability of an tablet, I can take my teaching from my living room to local public art virtual field trips to the inside of our classroom for not only myself, but also for my students to use once it safe to return in person.
