This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a first-year pre-k teacher building my classroom almost from scratch. I have limited resources, materials, and supplies. My students are creative, they enjoy drawing and creating things for people they care for. They get excited when doing crafty activities especially when transitioning to new themes according to seasons and holidays. However, my art center is very limited with materials, and they often get bored after a couple of minutes. These materials that we are asking for will allow for more students to enjoy the art area with a table that allows for 4 students at a time. It will also give them more space for a variety of activities such as playdough, making cards, building 3D models, counting objects, etc. They need more painting materials as well. All these materials will allow these students to express their creativity beyond limits along with developing new skills in language, motor, math, cognitive, etc. My students already show a lot of interest in art. With these materials they will take art to the next level, and they will very much appreciate it.
