This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are always excited to start a new art project! Many of them do not have access to art supplies at home, so my classroom is the only place they have that offers them the opportunity to create art using all different materials. Despite their personal hardships, they come to class excited to see what they will create! I love when they tell me that they wish they could come to art everyday and that they love my projects! They become very excited when they are given a choice to choose multiple materials, and painting is everyone’s favorite!! They are amazing artists with very creative ideas and imaginations!
My Project
Students always enjoy spending time drawing and creating projects of their own choosing. When the daily art goal has been met, students are allowed to chose a drawing or art activity book, or a reading book to enjoy until class is over. They are always excited when they see a new addition to my collection of books! There is a great interest in drawing animals, cartoon characters, and fashion! Students are also fascinated with the art of origami and trying to create a “folded creation.” These books will provide my students with more opportunities to draw things that interest them and to read about people who are famous in the world of art.
