My Project

I am the art teacher at the first Montessori public school in New York City! These books will enhance my students' engagement in artmaking. They will inspire and encourage my students to explore and experience the work of a wide variety of artists.

"What the hand does, the mind remembers"—Maria Montessori.

This quote defines the purpose this book collection will serve. My students will have stories about artists, learn about art history, art movements, as well as art and artists from around the world. Additionally, the how to draw books will help my students develop their drawing skills. With these books in hand, their level of creativity and self-expression will grow exponentially.
