Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Picasso, Georgia O'Keeffe, Warhol, and Kandinsky have nothing on my student artists. Creating art allows students to experience success and develop confidence. Art also helps children improve in other subject areas. My artists are in need of paper and other materials to enter the world of art.

My school is an ethnically diverse urban school in a large city.

We have a large population of English Language Learners. The students at my school are very interested in creating art. They are bright, inquisitive children. They enjoy academic and artistic challenges.

My Project

I am requesting materials such as foam brushes, pipe cleaners, cardstock, construction paper, tagboards, rubbing plates and markers. They will be used for creating mixed media collage projects. Many of the students at my school have a keen eye for art. They will learn that art is more than drawing. They will learn about collage. They will understand how collage is used and its place in the art world. They will create small and large scale collage images.

This project will help my students to understand the different forms of art.

It will allow them to take risks and develop their artistic confidence. By developing their artistic confidence, their academic confidence will improve. My students will experience success in art and in other areas. The ability to get these materials will help my students immensely.
