My Project

It's no secret that the world has been through a tough few years; our middle school students have also experienced a lot of stress since COVID hit when they were still in elementary school.

I'm planning a crafts club for students at our middle school to allow students to spend a relaxing time once a week creating with paint, yarn, and clay.

Crafting offers fun ways to practice both math and reading. We will have just over thirty minutes together, so our projects need to easily carry over from one session to the next. I've request lots of Ziploc bags to store projects as well as friendship bracelet kits, plastic canvas shapes, yarn, needles, and other supplies.

I hope that this will be a time for students to feel at peace in the midst of their busy day. Having a quiet time to enjoy crafting together will help students better cope with the stresses of daily life.
