Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are very creative and artistic. Unfortunately, our schedule doesn't allow for much time dedicated to art, so I've tried to find ways to incorporate it into our core subjects. As it is, I like to have my students draw illustrations and diagrams as part of their work in English Language Arts and Math, but not all my students have the supplies needed to make their art as they envision it. I have included colorful markers and pens in my supply list that will be used for collaboration projects and the artistic component of my students' work. I also included a vibra-tone percussion instrument. I once attended a Professional Development where this instrument was used for us to relax our minds by focusing on the sound. I would like for my students to experience these mindful moments to prepare their minds for learning. My project will provide mindfulness and color to 72 fourth graders.
