My Project

I provide intensive reading instruction to an amazing group of students with mild to moderate learning disabilities, ranging from second to fifth grade. Majority of students are below grade level standards in reading either by one or two grades.

Throughout the day, my students' receive specialized instruction from various groups based on individual needs.

Materials like folders, dry erase markers, and laminating pouches will help individualize instruction.

Due to this, routines and structure are critical to their learning outcomes. I would like for my students' to have the tools they need that will allow them to access the curriculum as well as become independent as they rotate from group to group. The use of a timer will notify (visually and auditory) students to clean up and proceed to the next area. It will not only frontload what's going to happen next, but gives them an opportunity to monitor their own learning experiences as they transition from group to group.
