My Students

Guess what? My students are beyond awesome. They've endured virtual learning without a complaint and they've managed to revel in the fact that their homes are riddled with endless possibilities for learning. Our crazy dance contests and in home scavenger hunts have made learning a lot more interesting and fun.

My Project

Once we get the supplies, I'm going to create a math center that focuses on starting a business. After learning about saving, spending, investing and donating money, next we'll delve into looking at money from other countries. We'll spin our globe and then do Google searches on foreign money. We'll compare and contrast what each countries money looks like and then find out what things (food, toys & books) kids like to buy in that particular country. We'll also look at each countries currency exchange rate and see if you can buy similar products abroad for approximately the same price in the United States.

I plan on cultivating international financial wizards in my kindergarten class.

Lastly, we'll focus on understanding that you can't have everything that you want because money is not an endless commodity for most people. We absolutely/positively don't want to become money infernos.
