Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My students are designers! Even though we struggle with supplies, this school is very arts-focused. The students enjoy their traditional classes, but it is their love of art that brought them to this school that admits students through a lottery system.
The students at this school are creative free-thinkers.
My class, based in the principles of architecture, is a balance of art and math, creative and rational. The students thrive and really delve into this very new but exciting subject.
My Project
Students at this art and design school are starting architecture classes their junior year. This is a new program, and I am trying to build a classroom set of supplies.
These model-building supplies will ensure the students have a greater chance at successfully brainstorming, designing, and building their structures.
The students are very excited about this new career pathway as they take the art basics they have learned and begin applying them to a real-world, gravity-restricted endeavor. These supplies will help give them a feel for what architecture school and working in a firm might be like so they can begin to shape their future as architects in the making!
