This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

April is Science Appreciation Month. It is exciting to see students get inspired by classroom lessons.

There are so many wonderful concepts to learn.

Learning about our universe and nebula is exciting. The colors in our universe and nebula are bright and colorful. I want to have materials so my students can make a craft and create their own nebula. These strings of LED lights are bright and colorful. Being able to see how the different colored lights turn on and off will help students understand nebula. Nebula have many colors. Each color seen in the nebula is a gas. As the gas burns, the gas emits a color.

Students will make this craft using the materials in this project. They will bring a water bottle from home and repurpose their clear water bottle into a nebula sensory bottle. Students will put the string of LED lights into the water bottle. Students will go home, show the nebula sensory bottle and explain to their family and friends why nebula are colorful.

This project has strings of multicolored LED lights and velcro sticky dots to attach the light to the water bottle. It also includes tacky glue to seal the water bottle lid. The project has a projector to project colors on the ceiling. Students will be able to put the LED Headbands inside their nebula sensory bottle and add more colors in their nebula sensory bottle. We will use the liquid chalk markers to make colorful pictures of nebula on construction paper we already have in class. We will use the double sided sticky tape to mount the pictures on our classroom walls. This project will be fun!
