My Students

Imagine visiting the pyramids of ancient Egypt and then flying over Australia's coral reefs teaming with colorful tropical fish? In between worldwide journeys you go and learn more about mathematics and grammar? With an iPad all sorts of learning experiences are possible.

My school is a Title 1 school located in Brooklyn's East New York.

All students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Budgets are cut all the time so any new technology is currently out of the question. My students are a wonderful group of children. I always call them the "Apples of My Eyes." The students are diverse in learning styles and needs. My class consists of 23 general education students with some push in special education for mathematics and science. Most of my students are performing below grade level and need alternative tools for learning content, skills and assessments.

My Project

I will create learning centers for individual and small group learning. In addition, I will use the iPad for whole group instruction on the SMARTBoard. Students will be able to use the myriad of learning apps to learn and self assess - an important skill with the new Common Core Learning expectations.

Your support of this iPad tablet in my classroom will make a world of difference to my student "apples" and how they learn and take on new academic challenges.
