Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Our school is an environmental high school with a young research program. I am trying to strengthen this research program and support our students entrance to our local science fair competition. I work with the sophomore class on developing projects related to the urban environment. Skills obtained in my course include many research techniques that will serve our students in their futures including reading primary literature, sampling methods, developing hypotheses and statistical analysis.

We are developing an urban environmental research program for our high school. In order to support a research program my students need constant access to a computer. We have recently received a new Macbook with generous support from donors through Donors Choose but we need to obtain the protection plan for that computer. High school students can be very hard on computers and we need to know that if we need to get our computer fixed, we can make that happen.

Apple provides Apple Care, a protection plan for your Apple products. This is a three year program that covers any possible disaster that may befall our brand new Macbook Pro. This protection plan is necessary for any computer, but most importantly one that students are going to depend on as a resource in our research classroom.

With your help these students will be able to depend on our new technology in the classroom. This new technology coupled with a strong protection program will ensure that our students will be able to use their computer for years to come.
