My Project

Hello everyone! I teach AP English Literature and Composition. In past years, AP courses have been confined to the classics. Recently, the list of approved texts with “literary merit” has been updated to allow for more modern texts! Unfortunately, we didn’t have the budget this year to order some of those books for my class.

This year, my students are some of the most motivated that I have had the pleasure of teaching in my career.

They love English and are excited to read fun, engaging books! I would love to have a book club with them where they are free to choose which book they want to read and can discuss it with peers. This will keep them engaged while prepping them for their exams. These books will be on a rotation so they can read each of them in groups throughout the year.

In May, these students will take the AP exam which will hopefully award them college credit for English. My students are hard-working and determined but need the proper supplies to prepare them for this very challenging exam. Your donation will allow them to fall in love with reading while succeeding in progressing toward a college degree before even graduating high school! We appreciate any and all support!
