My Students

As a teacher in a low-income school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Our school does not have enough funds for art supplies. Despite the challenges, I am setting high expectations for the students to create college level and above artworks.

I have students who will be applying for the AP Studio Art Drawing course, which is a college level course taught in high school.

My students are extremely creative, talented, and are pursuing a career in the art field. These students need to have the proper materials in order to create high quality artwork. The materials make a big difference in between student and professional looking artworks. I want these art students to be able to create their artworks without any limitations.

My Project

Students will be creating 24 artworks for their AP art portfolio. They will be using the Strathmore Bristol paper for the magnification (draw an object zoomed in), fauvism tree (draw emotional trees) , and family still life (draw objects that represent your family). So students need a lot of art materials to complete all of their artworks.

If students pass the AP Art portfolio, they will be able to get college credit.

These students can also use their artwork in portfolios for future jobs. Many of the students are interested in going into an Art career.

My class size has dramatically increased this year. So our school does not have enough funds to support these students. Please help me to get my students the supplies we need for a successful art program.
