My Students

Our school has been in remote learning since the middle of March. Each day my students log on to our zoom morning meetings, complete assignments on Google Classroom. The students also have weekly small group guided reading meetings and check ins.

The kindergartners are committed and eager learners, no matter where our classroom is!

I am so proud of their resilience as we have adjusted to online learning.

My Project

My students love read alouds! Either through remote learning or in person, it is a favorite part of my lessons. Read alouds also help students connect with themselves and explore emotions and ideas. Unfortunately, many of the books in our classroom do not match the diversity in our school.

I would like for my students to be able to see themselves and their families in books. Not only is it important for them to see themselves, but to also learn about other cultures that are different than their own.

I plan on using these books for read alouds and independent reading so that students can be aware that our differences are what makes us special.
