Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students at Liberty Avenue Middle school are lifelong learners and Global change-makers. They are curious, inquisitive, diverse and creative. They never stop believing in themselves or their potential to make their mark on our world. At LAMS, we believe that respect, responsibility and perseverance are important for student success in academics and in life. We also believe that there are certain Habits of Work and Learning that go with each of these traits which can be modeled, taught and assessed so that students can strengthen those traits. Students regularly self-assess on these habits throughout the school year to become aware of their own progress.

My Project

This project will help to provide the students in my school with the supplies and technology needed to provide them with nurturing, comfortable, safe and inclusive classrooms. The SFT grant allows us to provide additional PPE for students who may not be able gain access to these highly necessary materials. The Chromebooks, microphones, cameras and other tech equipment will allow our Science teachers to prepare in school and remote STEM lessons that will cater to the needs of some of our most disadvantaged students.This grant will benefit over 500 students.
