Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a neighborhood that struggles with poverty, gangs, and drugs. Many of these kids will be the first in their families to enter college after they graduate from high school.

My students are a dynamic, creative, restless bunch of teenagers.

Their interests range from fashion, to sports, to politics and film.

My students, what makes them special is their dedication to theatre arts. The hours they spend, the work they put in, the sacrifices they make- it is extremely inspiring.

My Project

Three items are in this cart! We're trying to build on the generous donations we received last year.

First, we have an extra microphone bodypack that is lacking a lavalier microphone.

If we want bigger productions, we need more students with microphones! Buying this microphone gets our total number of microphones to 7.

Stamps! In my theatre classes, they turn in classwork. I stamp the work and they receive credit in my class.

And lastly, I added a book of lessons I can share with my theatre classes. I'm looking forward to utilizing the exercises and games to promote their arts education.
