Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Since our school returned to in-person learning, we have been doing an annual Wellness on Wednesday in December. For the whole week, students participate in mental and physical wellness activities. On Wednesday, students get to pause their stressful lives and choose workshops to support their well-being. Workshops are led by students, staff, and outside visitors. Last year, we had over 20 student workshops, including jewelry making, cooking, managing anxiety, shifting perspectives, and more!!

At the end of the day on Wednesday, each of our 260 students receives a goody bag to help them carry wellness through the winter, one of the most challenging times for students and adults alike.

The plush toy, stamps, and other items in this project proposal will be part of that goody bag.
