Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Middle school students LOVE anime and manga! Thanks to our school anime club, we have an increasingly robust manga section in the library. The club itself meets every week to watch anime, read manga, and draw their favorite characters. The only problem is that the room where they hang out is small and drab. When the students asked me to help them improve the space, I asked them to make a list of materials and to write a project request, which is copied below:

The reason we would like to have these items in our club is because we want this community feel safe and fun for other students who might have the same or similar interests as us.

This allows us to make new connections with the students and make them feel welcome in this community. Using the materials we have requested can allow students to feel calm and relaxed during lunch when they need a break or if they just need a chill time. The materials such as the posters and decorations can make the club feel more comfortable and make it cooler.
