Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The items I am requesting, such as beanbags, floor cushions, books, and an animation station, will create a comfortable and inviting mental health/brain break space for my students. Animation can be both creatively demanding and mentally exhausting, and these resources will provide students with a much-needed opportunity to relax, recharge, and refocus. The beanbags and floor cushions will allow students to have a cozy and informal area to take short breaks, promoting a more comfortable learning environment that can reduce stress and anxiety.

Additionally, the animation studio will encourage creativity and experimentation.

It will serve as a hands-on area where students can engage with animation in a low-pressure, exploratory way, fostering their imagination and improving their technical skills. Books on animation and storytelling will further inspire students by exposing them to various styles, techniques, and narratives, broadening their understanding and appreciation of the art form.

By providing a dedicated mental health/brain break space, I aim to create a more holistic educational experience where students feel supported both academically and emotionally. By integrating spaces for relaxation and inspiration, I hope to improve students' overall well-being, leading to increased engagement, higher quality work, and a more positive classroom dynamic.

My students are passionate, creative, and deeply interested in animation. They come from diverse backgrounds and bring unique perspectives and ideas into the classroom. What makes them special is their enthusiasm for storytelling and visual expression, as well as their eagerness to learn new techniques and experiment with different styles. Many of my students are highly motivated but may also face the pressures of balancing academic demands with personal challenges. Providing a supportive and nurturing learning environment will help them reach their full potential and inspire them to continue pursuing their dreams in animation and beyond.
