This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I coach First Tech Challenge robotics team with a total of eight male students and two female students.
My students come from low income families.
The majority of my students will be the first to attend college in their family. The robotics engages their imagination and inspires them to reach for the stars. Even though majority of them are at the middle school level, they already set their mind to being an engineer.
My Project
Two of our team members are learning MIT App inventor program, and developing an android app to do pre and in game scouting. Moreover we will use this tablet to take pictures, record videos and update our Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts. With the help of this Android tablet our programmer will be able to develop android apps and test them.
Your donation will help our team members to experience Android app development.
While our students learn the development of an application, they will also learn a lot more skills like teamwork, time management, documentation, etc and hopefully be successful in their future careers.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
